Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field
- Minimum 7-10 years progressive hospitality leadership experience
- At least 3 years in a senior leadership role in private country club or luxury hospitality
- Proven ability to manage multi-department operations
- Strong financial management skills
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Experience with pre-opening or renovation transitions preferred
- Sommelier certification or experience preferred
- Ability to work variable schedule including weekends, holidays, and events
- Full-time exempt employment status
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 7-10 years of progressive hospitality leadership experience
- At least 3 years in a senior leadership or Assistant General Manager role within a private country club or luxury hospitality environment
- Successful management of multi-department operations including food and beverage, events, and facilities
- Proven track record of mentoring managers and developing service excellence teams
- Strong financial acumen, proficient in budgeting, forecasting, and cost management
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Sommelier certification or strong background in wine selection and service preferred
- Experience in pre-opening or renovation transitions strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field required
- CMAA certification or equivalent advanced training preferred
Job Duties
- Serve as an ambassador for Vestavia Country Club's culture and service philosophy, model professionalism, accessibility, and hospitality
- Work closely with the General Manager to execute strategic priorities across governance, culture, sports, food and beverage, membership, and capital investment
- Maintain high visibility with members and staff, embody a service-first mindset
- Provide leadership fostering cross-departmental collaboration
- Oversee all clubhouse functions including food & beverage outlets, banquet operations, events, catering, and clubhouse facilities
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures ensuring consistency and service quality
- Coordinate day-to-day clubhouse operations ensuring seamless communication
- Partner with Food & Beverage leadership to deliver outstanding dining and banquet experiences
- Implement staff training in service excellence and private event execution
- Lead recruitment, selection, and onboarding of key service and management team members
- Manage operating budgets in collaboration with Controller and General Manager
- Conduct monthly reviews of P&L, monitor performance metrics, analyze budget variances
- Oversee billing, POS integration, and cost control measures
- Participate in department forecasts and annual budget planning
- Collaborate on member retention, engagement, and onboarding initiatives
- Work with Catering Director to plan and execute club events and weddings
- Attend key events maintaining strong member relations
- Lead training programs for operational consistency and club culture
- Mentor department directors ensuring performance and development
- Evaluate team performance and identify advancement opportunities
- Create job standards, training manuals, checklists, and evaluation tools
- Partner with Director of Operations on clubhouse maintenance, preventive maintenance, and aesthetic standards
- Establish vendor compliance and safety procedures
- Support back-of-house operations for cleanliness and efficiency
- Represent General Manager in their absence managing club operations
- Attend Board and committee meetings as requested
- Collaborate on strategic financial planning and capital improvement tracking
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and member satisfaction assessments
