Job Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Previous airline experience preferred
- Previous experience in security, military, or public contact preferred
- Must be U.S. citizen
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have reliable telephone and transportation
- Treat all information as confidential
- Possess tact to deal with all levels of situations
- Able to lift, carry, or hold up to 75 lbs
- Physical exam may be required
- Ability to read identification badges, credentials, and labels
- Able to open and close latches, zippers, and screw caps
- Must be able to hear spoken voice and alarms with background noise
- Able to reach all parts of standing adult body with one hand or metal detector
- Manual dexterity to operate hand wand and search luggage and packages
- Potential exposure to hazards during investigations
- Able to verbally direct and communicate in English
- Able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English
- Able to sit, stand, lift and bend throughout shift
- Pass pre-employment and random drug tests
- Pass pre-employment background check

- Able to sit, stand, lift, and bend throughout shifts
- Pass pre-employment drug test and background check
Job Duties
- Provide security screening of persons and property using hand-held metal detectors and physical inspections to prevent hijacking or other criminal acts
- Handle screening equipment testing and record all operational tests
- Conduct physical searches and take proper action upon detection of questionable or dangerous items
- Notify Airline Ground Security Coordinator and law enforcement when necessary
- Verbally detain persons without use of physical restraint when appropriate
- Report all government tests, real weapons, injuries, and major incidents to supervisor
- Maintain cleanliness and care in handling people’s property and luggage
