Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous airline experience preferred
- Previous experience in security, military, or public contact preferred
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have reliable telephone and transportation
- Ability to treat all information as confidential
- Ability to communicate tactfully with clients, employees, and public
- Must be able to lift, carry, or hold up to 75 lbs
- Must be able to read identification badges and labels
- Must be able to open and close latches, zippers, and screw caps
- Must be able to hear and respond to spoken voice and audible alarms
- Must be able to reach all parts of a standing adult body with one hand or handheld metal detector
- Must have manual dexterity to operate hand wand and search luggage
- Must be able to verbally direct in English
- Must be able to read, write, understand, and carry out instructions in English
- Must be able to sit, stand, lift, and bend throughout the shift
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
- Must pass pre-employment background check

Job Duties
- Provide security screening of persons and property using hand-held metal detectors and physical inspections
- Conduct physical searches and take proper action upon detection of questionable or dangerous items
- Notify Airline Ground Security Coordinator immediately when necessary
- Ensure safe handling of dangerous or deadly weapons or objects until arrival of appropriate authorities
- Contact Law Enforcement Officers if contraband is discovered and maintain control until their arrival
- Verbally detain persons when appropriate without physical restraint
- Provide incident reports for lost or damaged property or personal injury
- Test screening equipment and record all operational tests on flight activity log
- Report safety hazards, equipment problems, and incidents to supervisors
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and adhere to company policies and procedures
- Project a positive image and respond courteously to clients, staff, and public
- Attend meetings and participate in training and in-services as required
- Utilize company and client equipment, supplies, and resources responsibly
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
