Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-3 years mechanic experience
- Technical community college graduate in automotive/truck mechanics or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in transportation or school bus operations preferred
- Experience operating service truck preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
- Valid Colorado CDL with BP2 endorsements
- Must meet insurability requirements for driving district vehicle
- Ability to take responsibility for performance

Job Duties
- Perform daily fueling and servicing of district fleet
- Perform under hood services, preventive maintenance and minor repairs for district vehicles
- Assist Maintenance Technicians with annual Colorado Department of Education inspections
- Assist with preventive maintenance PMA and PMD repairs
- Assist Maintenance Technician IIs with repairs and service calls
- Monitor urgent repair needs and notify Shop Supervisor
- Manage fluid inventory and notify Parts Clerk for replenishment
- Complete required forms and maintain accurate maintenance records
- Record maintenance activities using computerized system
- Transport vehicle repair parts, tools, equipment, and district vehicles as needed
- Perform operator pre-trip vehicle inspections per CDE regulations
- Maintain cleanliness of fueling and work areas
- Create safe work environment and monitor tools and equipment
- Participate and support team environment and communicate with supervisors
- Maintain safety and effective operation of personal and shop tools
- Execute contingency plans during inclement weather
- Attend meetings on fleet fueling and maintenance
- Communicate with vehicle operators, peers, supervisors and transportation users
- Participate in random drug and alcohol testing
- Perform other duties as requested
