Job Requirements
- completion of tenth grade with coursework in vehicle repair and maintenance
- possession of a valid driver's license
- possession of basic hand tools commonly used in automotive industry such as wrenches, pliers, sockets and ratchets
- ability to lift 50 lbs
- ability to perform manual dexterity tasks such as lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, crawling
- ability to complete criminal background check and driving record check
- punctuality and dependability
- ability to arrive on-time daily
Job Qualifications
- completion of the tenth grade with coursework in vehicle repair and maintenance
- possession of a valid driver's license
- ability to follow written and oral instructions and manufacturers' manuals
- basic keyboarding skills
- general knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting and bending
- ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships
- proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- familiarity with motor vehicles and general automotive tools and techniques
- excellent customer service skills
- punctual and dependable
Job Duties
- performs vehicle addition and removal from automated motor pool kiosk
- safeguards all motor pool vehicle keys
- performs preventive maintenance inspections and minor mechanical repairs on vehicles
- conducts road tests of vehicles to diagnose and confirm repair problems
- performs routine vehicle condition inspections
- maintains vehicle interior cleanliness and disinfects
- replaces vehicle batteries and light bulbs when needed
- performs road service calls to assess mechanical condition of disabled vehicles
- assists skilled Vehicle and Equipment Technicians
- performs preparatory and incidental maintenance tasks
- operates hand and power tools
- maintains tools and equipment
- drives vehicles to pick up or deliver materials
- attends safety training
- keeps work areas and vehicles orderly
