Job Requirements
- Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License and maintain appropriate Authority driving privileges
- Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces, rough terrain and have safe work and driving habits
- Demonstrated experience operating skid steer loaders, front-end loaders, backhoes and dump trucks
- Must have the ability to access and operate all equipment and vehicles
- Must provide own complete set of hand tools
- Must be detailed oriented with strong organizational and basic analytical skills
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently, while exercising sound judgement
- Disciplined work ethic: Must occasionally work extended hours and is subject to emergency call-backs
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
- Will be required to use personal computer and/or PDA for work order system, email, and training
- Ability to effectively communicate over a two-way radio, email, phone, and person-to-person
- Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding
- Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations
- Ability to solve problems in standard situations
- May work in inclement weather and have ability to navigate all areas where work is performed and/or assigned
- Must pass criminal history background check and maintain eligibility for a security access badge in accordance with the Airport Security Plan
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of technical program in vehicle mechanics
- Minimum of 5 years experience in maintenance and repair of gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment
- ASE certification or ability to obtain within two years of hire
- Experience operating skid steer loaders, front-end loaders, backhoes, and dump trucks
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with appropriate driving privileges
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to interpret instructions and solve problems in standard situations
Job Duties
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical defects in gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment
- Perform general overhauling
- Assist contractor as needed for mechanical repairs on passenger boarding bridges
- Perform welding and fabrication work
- Repair and maintain pumps, lights, steering gears, starters, generators, universal joints, and hydraulic systems
- Adjust, repair, and/or replace brakes
- Maintain records of repairs made, order parts, make emergency repairs in the field
- Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly fashion
- Perform snow removal as assigned
- Subject to emergency call-in
- Perform other assignments and duties as directed
