Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- three to twelve months related experience and or training
- valid Connecticut driver’s license in good standing
- ability to secure a CT Public Service License within 90 days of hire
- ability to complete basic forms and communicate effectively
- ability to follow set schedules
- ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions
- ability to assist with the physical mobility needs of passengers including lifting and moving up to 50 pounds
- ability to perform duties in various weather conditions
Job Qualifications

- ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos
- ability to complete basic forms such as incident reports
- effective communication skills
- ability to follow set schedules
- ability to apply common sense understanding
- valid Connecticut driver’s license in good standing
- ability to secure a CT Public Service License within 90 days
- ability to obtain approved certification in physical or psychological management training
- CPR and first aid certification
Job Duties
- Conduct pre and post-trip inspections on agency owned or leased vehicles
- document inspections and mileage and submit reports
- drive vehicle according to assigned schedule
- assist passengers into and out of vehicle
- assess physical environment of service locations and report safety hazards
- secure passengers wheelchairs to restraining devices
- ensure proper use of safety equipment
- operate communication devices to report disruptions
- clean and service vehicles
- keep records of trips and passenger behavior
- perform delivery of interoffice mail
- clean vehicles after inclement weather
- assist with vehicle preparation for inclement weather
- perform other duties as required
