The iconic Hotel del Coronado, located on the picturesque Coronado Island just minutes from downtown San Diego, is searching for a Valet Parking Cashier (Seasonal) to join its esteemed team. As one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world, the Hotel del Coronado is a beloved historic landmark that has been enchanting guests since it was built in 1888. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have experience handling cash transactions
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekdays, weekends and holidays
- Must be comfortable with a variable work schedule and open availability
- Must be able to stand and move for extended periods
- Must be detail oriented and able to maintain accurate records
- Must be able to provide excellent customer service
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in cashiering, customer service or hospitality preferred
- Ability to operate point-of-sale systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage money accurately
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with parking operations is a plus
Job Duties
- Greet arriving and departing guests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
- Total, process and collect payments from guests and all parking transactions including using the point-of-sale system, handling money, managing a bank, reporting discrepancies, processing credit and debit cards, making change and processing gift certificates, cards, vouchers and credits
- Operate and manage the parking booth area
- Maintain accurate records of parking-related charges and fees including parking rates, validations, accrued parking time, vehicles in the hotel's care
- Manage flow of traffic as needed
- Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
