Job Requirements

  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Ability to work specified shifts between 5:30 am and 8:00 pm Monday through Friday
  • Ability to perform each essential job function satisfactorily
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to operate vehicles safely following traffic laws
  • Ability to prepare reports and maintain accurate documentation
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations

Job Duties

  • Greet and direct patients and visitors arriving at the facility while creating a positive image of the organization
  • Operate guests vehicle in a safe manner and ensure the vehicle is locked after parking it in the designated area
  • Keep the front clear of vehicles by preventing long-term parking and monitor the number of cars parked in designated valet areas
  • Prepare daily valet parking reports and log incidents while keeping the supervisor informed of needs, problems, and activities
  • Report parking violations and notify security officers of any crimes or vandalism involving vehicles
  • Assist individuals exiting vehicles who may have limited mobility
  • Determine urgency of situations and calm patients if necessary, making appropriate referrals
  • Safely transport patients, employees, and guests on the Avera McKennan campus using the courtesy shuttle
  • Operate the shuttle vehicle in a safe manner, following all traffic laws, and ensure it is locked and clean at the end of shifts
  • Maintain the shuttle vehicle by keeping it free of clutter, ensuring it is filled with gas and oil, and completing mileage documentation
