Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a professional kitchen environment
  • Prior supervisory or management experience in food service
  • Strong problem-solving and delegation skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to maintaining food safety standards
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks

Job Qualifications

  • Proven culinary experience as a Sous Chef or similar role
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • Ability to manage and evaluate kitchen staff
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards
  • Experience in scheduling and inventory control
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
  • Culinary degree or equivalent training preferred

Job Duties

  • Train kitchen associates on job duties including plate presentation and display work
  • Write schedules, evaluate, and direct all kitchen personnel
  • Maintain open verbal and written communication between management and associates
  • Write and present disciplinary actions as needed
  • Provide associates with necessary tools and equipment
  • Take immediate action on kitchen problems
  • Participate in department meetings, inventory, and management programs
  • Ensure all food is high quality, prepared properly, and efficiently served
  • Assist in establishing operational goals and standards
  • Supervise kitchen staff and sanitation associates in absence of Executive Chef
  • Maintain use records, roast meat charts, recipe cards
  • Prepare recipe cards and picture presentations of menu items
  • Submit payroll hours to accounting department timely
