Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a culinary leadership role
  • Knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety regulations
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Willingness to mentor and develop team members

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar culinary leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to train and mentor kitchen staff
  • Effective communication skills
  • Culinary degree or professional culinary training preferred
  • Experience in large-scale hotel or banquet food service environments

Job Duties

  • Train all associates in the kitchen on their job duties including plate presentation and display work
  • Write schedules, evaluate, and direct all kitchen personnel
  • Maintain open verbal and written communication between management and associates
  • Write and present disciplinary action as needed
  • Provide associates with tools and equipment needed for their jobs
  • Take immediate action on kitchen problems
  • Participate in departmental and staff meetings
  • Ensure high-quality food preparation according to recipes
  • Assist in establishing operational goals and standards
  • Supervise kitchen staff and utility associates in the absence of the Executive Chef
  • Maintain records such as roast meat charts and recipe cards
  • Prepare recipe cards and picture presentations of menu items
  • Submit payroll hours timely to Accounting Department
