Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in a culinary or kitchen supervisory role
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- physical ability to stand for long periods and handle kitchen equipment safely
- excellent team player with leadership capabilities
Job Qualifications
- proven experience as a sous chef or similar role in a hotel or hospitality environment
- excellent organizational and leadership skills
- strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- ability to train coach and mentor kitchen staff
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to manage kitchen operations efficiently
- culinary degree or relevant certification preferred
Job Duties
- train all associates in the kitchen how to perform their job duties effectively including plate presentation and display work
- write schedules evaluate and direct all kitchen personnel
- maintain open verbal and written communication between management and associates
- write and present disciplinary action as needed
- provide tools and equipment necessary for associates to perform their jobs
- take immediate action on problems encountered in the kitchen
- participate in department meetings staff meetings kitchen inventory and manager on duty programs
- ensure all food served is high quality prepared according to recipe and expedited efficiently
- assist in establishing goals standards and objectives to improve operation and reputation
- supervise entire kitchen staff in absence of executive chef including utility and sanitation associates
- maintain all use records roast meat charts and recipe cards
- prepare recipe cards and picture presentation of menu items
- ensure payroll hours are submitted to accounting department on time
