Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in kitchen steward or similar role preferred
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual labor
  • ability to follow detailed instructions and safety guidelines
  • willingness to learn and take direction
  • reliable and punctual
  • ability to work as part of a team

Job Qualifications

  • experience working in a commercial kitchen or food service environment
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to operate commercial dishwashing equipment

Job Duties

  • operates dish washing machine to properly wash and sanitize all dishes silverware glasses utensils and cooking equipment
  • maintains clean sanitary clutter free and safe environment in food services areas by sweeping mopping and pressure washing floors cleaning and sanitizing dish machine
  • sets up and maintains dish and pot washing areas
  • cleans production equipment as needed or directed by supervisor
  • maintains or exceed standards of appearance cleanliness hygiene and health standards
  • follows daily and weekly cleaning schedules
  • practices all safety and loss prevention procedures
  • attends all in-services as required
  • records and maintains documentation for the following measures for service standards and regulatory compliance manually records dish machine temperatures and sanitizer strength manually records pot and pan sink temperature and sanitizer strength
  • assists in receiving of food and non-food supplies
  • assists with food prep tasks as directed by the chef
  • performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor
