Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in kitchen or janitorial cleaning roles is advantageous
- Ability to stoop, turn, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, handle, stand, and walk for over 75% of the shift
- Ability to safely utilize kitchen equipment
- Physical ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently
- Ability to comply with patient rights, regulatory requirements, and company policies
- Good health to properly discharge duties
- No infectious disease or skin lesion during communicability
- Commitment to safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work minimum 2 shifts every 180 days as PRN or occasional role
Job Qualifications
- Proficient ability to read, write and understand business documents in English
- Ability to communicate verbally with residents, families, visitors, and co-workers
- Ability to understand and follow basic written and oral instructions
- Ability to move food serving and preparation equipment as needed
- Ability to recognize differences in equipment sounds indicating problems or safety concerns
- Ability to work under close supervision performing routine tasks
- Ability to perform tasks considering residents in vicinity and cooperate with others
- Ability to learn basic food serving, cleanliness, and sanitation requirements
- Commitment to Christian principles and teachings professionally and personally
Job Duties
- Set-up, breakdown and maintain the dish room and pot washing area
- Set-up, breakdown and clean floor safety mats
- Clean all pots, pans, dishes, silverware, glassware, and utensils, including washing, drying and storing
- Clean and sanitize all carts
- Clean production equipment and kitchen according to cleaning schedules and procedures
- Mop and sweep kitchen, dry storeroom, walk-in coolers to be free of debris
- Take out trash on an ongoing basis
- Keep log sheets for the dish machine and 3 compartment sink
- Assist in receiving and storing groceries, frozen foods, produce, etc
- Date and rotate canned goods as directed
- Detect, correct and report situations that may cause accidents or injuries
- Participate in training programs and learn to utilize all pieces of equipment in the food service department including proper cleaning methods
- Maintain sanitary conditions and keep work area clean, orderly, and safe
- Assist with orientation and training of food service employees
- Maintain or exceed Parkway Place standards of appearance and cleanliness
- Maintain compliance with all Buckner policies, procedures and requirements
- Work successfully as part of a team and develop strong working relationships with co-workers
- Attend staff meetings and training as required
- Perform general office tasks and special assignments as needed
