Job Description

Orlando Health Watson Clinic Lakeland Highlands Hospital is set to open its doors in the summer of 2026 at 4000 Lakeland Highlands Road, Lakeland, FL. This new state-of-the-art, seven-story multi-specialty hospital will serve as a vital healthcare hub for Polk County and beyond. With over 300 inpatient beds, 69 emergency and observation beds, 11 operating rooms, and four cardiac interventional suites, this hospital promises to offer comprehensive cardiovascular, neurology, oncology services, advanced surgical procedures, and dedicated labor and delivery services including a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • No prior experience required
  • Basic computer literacy including ability to use department-specific software
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and operating cleaning machinery
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must adhere to Orlando Health’s standards of behavior and safety protocols

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read and recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers
  • Good working knowledge of department-related computer systems including Tele-Tracking programs such as Service Response
  • Comfortable working in a cohesive team environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to operate outdoor cleaning equipment safely and efficiently

Job Duties

  • Adhere to all standards of behavior and exhibit excellent customer service skills
  • Transport regular waste, bio-hazardous waste, and recycling waste to designated collection locations
  • Perform routine manual tasks related to cleaning inside hospital and on immediate grounds
  • Pick up litter and debris to maintain clean hospital grounds
  • Empty and clean trash containers to prevent spills and marks
  • Operate outside cleaning equipment such as pressure washers, leaf blowers, Billy Goat machines, and cart washing machines
  • Wash low-level outside windows and clean door frames
  • Maintain patient and non-patient areas in compliance with mandated and regulatory agency requirements
  • Use appropriate safety systems to maintain a safe work area
  • Clean and disinfect patient rooms, bathrooms, public areas, corridors, and medication storage rooms using proper chemicals and procedures
  • Maintain equipment in clean and functional condition
  • Report unsafe situations and submit engineering service requests for repairs
  • Work independently to complete assigned tasks
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies
  • Follow all Orlando Health policies and procedures
