Job Requirements

  • ability to communicate effectively and perform simple arithmetic
  • a minimum of one year experience as a prep cook with dishwasher responsibilities in a hotel, restaurant, club, or similar institution
  • ability to plan and organize work, to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications, and standards
  • knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance
  • food handlers certification
  • basic understanding of English

Job Duties

  • maintains assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition
  • maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code
  • attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned
  • performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
  • washes pots, pans, dishes, and kitchen utensils
  • cleans kitchen and dining areas
  • stores food and non-food supplies properly
  • assists with kitchen equipment maintenance
