Job Requirements

  • Must be able to work Monday-Friday, 7a-4:30p
  • must be able to pass an FBI background check
  • previous utility/dishwasher experience required
  • ability to measure products and convert units of measure
  • awareness of commercial kitchen equipment and how to perform routine maintenance and cleaning
  • reliability and willingness to work in a hot, humid environment
  • good communication skills

Job Duties

  • Set up and operate the dish machine for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, trays, silverware, glassware, pots, and pans
  • scrape, separate, and organize items
  • note and record dish-machine temperatures, reporting low temperatures or machine malfunctions immediately
  • transport related supplies and assist in the setup of dining and serving areas
  • load and unload food and supplies to and from the van for deliveries and pick-ups
  • drive safely while obeying all state and local laws in Virginia
  • clean dining and serving areas throughout and after the meal period and replenish to ensure service without interruption
  • set up and use a three-compartment sink for cleaning and sanitizing pots and pans
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas, including sweeping, mopping floors, and removal of trash
  • assist with receiving and storage of food products and food preparation following correct food handling procedures to ensure food safety
  • perform all duties by food safety and sanitation best practices
  • other duties, as assigned
