Job Requirements
- High school diploma required
- Two years of industrial experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to work in extreme and inclement weather conditions
- Capable of lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in confined spaces and elevated areas
- Must handle petroleum coke products with respiratory protection
- Skilled in using wrenches and other tools to tighten nuts and bolts
- Able to load and unload heavy equipment manually or by operating machinery
- Must pass general physical fitness testing
- Required to train in safety and hazmat requirements
- Must be mobile to coordinate work
- Able to work rotating shift schedules
Job Qualifications

- Experience working in industrial plant environments
- Ability to operate mobile equipment safely
- Basic mechanical aptitude for minor equipment repairs
- Ability to follow ISO standards and company procedures
- Physical capability to work in confined and elevated spaces
- Ability to handle respiratory protection when working with petroleum coke vapors
- Experience working rotating shifts
Job Duties
- Clean up spillage and reclaim uncontaminated coke as instructed
- Operate all mobile equipment required to perform job duties and check oil, water, battery and fuel
- Observe calcining operations while performing job duties and promptly report unusual happenings to the senior operator
- Make minor repairs and adjustments to equipment and assist maintenance personnel as needed
- Notify senior operator whenever leaving work area
- Maintain emergency equipment such as flashlight, rain suit, and kiln drive bolts
- Maintain availability when on standby during off-duty hours
- Ensure work areas, equipment, and work practices comply with regulatory codes, statutes, and company requirements
- Report all injuries immediately to the supervisor
- Advise supervisor on improving and safely functioning plant equipment and facilities
- Assist in developing written safety procedures for material handling
- Follow ISO procedures to complete duties
- Advise supervisor on improving and maintaining coke quality and workmanship
- Recommend improvements in operation or maintenance of plant facilities
- Ensure compliance with safety, personnel, timekeeping, payroll, attendance, and other plant procedures
- Maintain communications with supervisor and coworkers on daily activities
- Assist with miscellaneous production tasks as required
- Operate ship loader according to plant procedures
- Perform other duties as required
