Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in housekeeping or related field preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Must maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • Must comply with safety and operational standards
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and stand for entire shifts
  • Must be able to use hotel software systems
  • Willingness to cross-train in other hotel areas
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must show initiative
  • Flexible and long working hours sometimes required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred
  • Previous housekeeping experience highly preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • Friendly, courteous, and service-oriented attitude
  • Ability to listen and clarify guest and employee concerns
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Capability to understand and apply complex information
  • Flexibility to work long hours
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely

Job Duties

  • Use proper two-way radio etiquette when communicating with other employees
  • Use provided hotel software system (i.e. HotSOS) to properly track work assignments and guest requests
  • Practice safe work habits to ensure safety to guests, fellow employees and self
  • Handle items for "Lost and Found" according to Highgate Hotel Standards
  • At the end of the shift, turn in all keys, assignment sheets, and communication devices to the Housekeeping Office
  • Report maintenance issues to Housekeeping Clerk, Supervisor, or Manager
  • Be familiar with Highgate Hotel guestroom cleaning procedures and be able to assist as needed
