Job Duties

  • Executes department practices, procedures, safety regulations, and adheres to all federal, state and local guidelines
  • Maintains required sanitary levels for food and equipment throughout food preparation, service and storage and ensures all food handling and sanitation is in conjunction with local and corporate health and sanitation requirements
  • Assures that all kitchen areas and equipment are properly maintained for convenience and safety operating to manufacturer's specifications, reporting and assisting in identifying and correcting problem areas and equipment
  • Assists cook with peeling, prepping and other related duties as requested
  • Receives, follows and ensures that all schedules are followed as outlined by supervisor, demonstrating versatility and willingness to cover various functions and shifts such as driving, working weekends and holidays, and during emergencies
  • Develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel and other departments to assure all functions can be properly planned and maintained to meet the needs of the facility
  • Participates in programs designed for in-service education, on the job training and orientation classes
  • Adheres to Universal Precautions and Infection Control Policies by following established hand washing procedures, appropriately using PPE and supplies when handling infectious materials, and following disposal policies
  • Wears safety equipment and uses proper mechanics while performing duties such as back braces and mechanical lifts when moving or lifting heavy objects
  • Keeps work areas free of trash and hazardous conditions such as grease spills and excess supplies according to safety rules and regulations
  • Reports all accidents and incidents to the supervisor
  • Maintains proper attendance and punctuality in compliance with facility policy
  • Maintains confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information
  • Drives facility vehicle for errands or transportation as directed
  • Performs other job-related duties as requested by the Executive Director or designee
  • Consistently provides service excellence to all residents, family members, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers reflecting the facility's commitment to CARES values
