Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in dishwashing or kitchen utility role preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Basic knowledge of sanitation and cleaning procedures
- Ability to follow detailed instructions
- Physical ability to lift 50 pounds or less
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings
Job Duties
- Processes incoming dirty dishes and loads into the dishwasher for proper cleaning and sanitation
- Assists in picking up dirty dishes from independent living, health center, and assisted living areas and transfers them to the dishwashing area for cleaning and sanitation
- Washes and sanitizes all dishes, pots, and pans for each meal period
- Loads all dishes into the dishwasher with proper soap and sanitizer as set forth by the chef
- Checks dishwasher cleanliness prior to loading dishes and cleans dishwasher at the beginning and end of each shift
- Inspects dishes, pots, and pans for cleanliness and sanitation, noting any chips or breaks
- Fills sink with water and soap to hand wash china or non-dishwasher safe pots and pans
- Dries dishes, pots, and pans with appropriate towels or linens
- Returns clean and sanitized dishes, pots, and pans to proper locations within the kitchen area
