Job Requirements
- knowledge of proper pot and dish-washing techniques
- ability to stand, walk, sit, handle objects, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, taste and smell
- ability to lift or carry up to 50 lbs
- free of diseases transmissible during job responsibilities
- able to work weekend shifts and occasional weekdays
- meet attendance and punctuality standards
Job Qualifications
- 1-2 years experience in a similar position desired
- ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently
- ability to meet or exceed attendance and punctuality standards
- ability to use miscellaneous software and office equipment
- ability to understand and follow directions
- ability to work with minimal supervision
Job Duties
- assist the sous chef/executive chef/director of dietary services with the calculation of food and supply inventory
- attend to kitchen spills quickly and keep floors and surfaces clean
- assist in meal preparation while managing portion control and special diet requirements
- follow sanitation programs and schedules including inspections
- prevent food contamination and spoilage through proper covering, dating, labeling, storage, and temperature control
- assist with receiving, inspection, and storage of supplies
- remove trash from kitchen areas and monitor garbage cans and sites related to dietary services
- wash, scrub, and dry dishes, utensils, beverage containers, carts, and cooking equipment
- manage dishwashing stations and ensure chemical registers comply with state and company guidelines
- perform preventive maintenance and equipment checks on dishwashing equipment
- transport dishes to the main kitchen for cleaning
- set up and break down member/resident events as assigned
