Job Requirements

  • High school graduation or GED required
  • 1-2 years experience in a similar position desired
  • ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently
  • ability to meet or exceed attendance and punctuality standards
  • ability to use miscellaneous software and office equipment
  • ability to understand and follow directions
  • ability to work with minimal supervision

Job Duties

  • Assist the Executive Chef and Director of Dietary Services with food and supply inventory calculation
  • attend to kitchen spills and maintain clean floor and surface areas
  • assist in meal preparation and manage portion control including special diets
  • follow sanitation programs and schedules including cleaning inspections
  • ensure food items are protected from contamination and spoilage through proper storage and labeling
  • assist with receiving, inspecting, and storing supplies
  • remove trash from kitchen areas and monitor garbage sites
  • wash, scrub, and dry dishes, utensils, beverage containers, food carts, and cooking pots
  • manage dishwashing stations ensuring proper chemical use and compliance with state and company guidelines
  • perform preventive maintenance and equipment checks on dishwashing machines
  • transport dishes back to the main kitchen for cleaning
  • set up and break down resident events as assigned
