Job Duties
- Assist the Executive Chef and Director of Dietary Services with food and supply inventory calculation
- attend to kitchen spills and maintain clean floor and surface areas
- assist in meal preparation and manage portion control including special diets
- follow sanitation programs and schedules including cleaning inspections
- ensure food items are protected from contamination and spoilage through proper storage and labeling
- assist with receiving, inspecting, and storing supplies
- remove trash from kitchen areas and monitor garbage sites
- wash, scrub, and dry dishes, utensils, beverage containers, food carts, and cooking pots
- manage dishwashing stations ensuring proper chemical use and compliance with state and company guidelines
- perform preventive maintenance and equipment checks on dishwashing machines
- transport dishes back to the main kitchen for cleaning
- set up and break down resident events as assigned
