Job Requirements

  • Experience with USDA, commercial kitchens, and food handler's training
  • experience in the mental health field with severe and persistent mentally ill (SPMI) individuals or comparable experience
  • ability to pass background check and drug screening

Job Duties

  • Provide day to day oversight of the kitchen
  • prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, and two snacks as per the nutritional guidelines and care plan recommendation during morning and evening in the dining area
  • conduct regularly scheduled inspections of the kitchen to ensure all meal preparation, meal selection, and kitchen standards comply with federal and state regulations
  • maintain cleanliness of the kitchen according to Health Department requirements
  • place monthly orders for bulk supply of food and kitchen supplies
  • maintain working inventory of all food and supplies
  • keep financial records of purchasing
  • create nutritional menus monthly including special diets
  • facilitate home economic groups and lifestyle training
  • cater social events and activities
