Job Requirements
- Meets all state requirements to work as a pharmacy technician
- Must obtain national pharmacy technician certification issued by PTCB or NHA within 9 months of job entry
- Ability to perform tasks in compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy laws
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information confidentially
- Availability to work flexible shifts as needed
Job Qualifications
- Meets all state requirements for pharmacy technician registration or licensure
- Obtains National Pharmacy Technician Certification within nine months of employment
- Demonstrates strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to operate point-of-sale systems and pharmacy software
- Knowledge of pharmacy inventory management and medication handling
- Committed to maintaining high ethical standards and compliance with regulations
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Job Duties
- Process member purchases using cash registers and accept different payment types
- Maintain pharmacy merchandise presentation by stocking, rotating, pricing, and displaying items
- Handle claims and returns and complete required pharmacy documentation
- Monitor and resolve prescription fulfillment issues including insurance claims and approvals
- Assist pharmacist in filling and labeling prescriptions accurately
- Provide patient/member service by addressing needs, resolving concerns, and guiding product selection
- Enter prescription data accurately into pharmacy software and update patient records
