Job Requirements

  • Meets all state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician such as minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure
  • Must obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by PTCB or NHA within 9 months of job entry
  • Ability to operate cash registers and related hardware
  • Capable of maintaining merchandise presentation and organizing pharmacy supplies
  • Skilled in processing third-party insurance claims and handling prescription data
  • Ability to comply with HIPAA and other privacy regulations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with members and team members
  • Commitment to maintain a drug-free workplace

Job Qualifications

  • Meets all state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Must obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification within nine months of job entry
  • Experience in using pharmacy software preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to accurately enter prescription data and handle delicate pharmaceuticals
  • Ability to follow local, state, and federal laws related to pharmacy operations
  • Proficiency in handling insurance claims and understanding of pharmaceutical terminology
  • Experience in merchandising and inventory management

Job Duties

  • Processes member purchases by operating cash registers and related hardware
  • Maintains merchandise presentation by stocking, rotating, and organizing merchandise and supplies
  • Handles claims and returns and performs merchandising functions including pricing and signage creation
  • Monitors and resolves prescription fulfillment process issues including insurance claims and physician authorizations
  • Assists pharmacists in prescription fulfillment and processing third-party insurance claims
  • Provides customer service by acknowledging members, initiating prescription orders, and resolving member issues
  • Enters prescription data into pharmacy software accurately
  • Fills prescriptions by retrieving orders, measuring medications, mixing or reconstituting medicines, and labeling containers
  • Assists members during prescription pickup by verifying information and logging sales
  • Completes work assignments by collaborating with team members and communicating progress
  • Complies with company policies and maintains a safe, ethical work environment
