Job Requirements
- Meets all state requirements to work as a pharmacy technician such as minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, or licensure
- Must obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by PTCB or NHA within 9 months of job entry
- Ability to process prescriptions accurately following legal and corporate policies
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential patient information with compliance to HIPAA
- Capable of operating cash registers and pharmacy equipment
- Must adhere to company policies and ethical standards
Job Qualifications
- Meets state pharmacy technician requirements such as age, qualification, registration, certification, or licensure
- Ability to obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification within 9 months of employment
- Experience using pharmacy software and handling pharmaceutical products
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Basic math skills for medication measurement and counting
Job Duties
- Process member purchases by operating cash registers and using appropriate payment procedures
- Maintain merchandise presentation by stocking, rotating, pricing, and securing items
- Handle claims, returns, and perform merchandising functions like creating signs and verifying merchandise
- Monitor prescription fulfillment process and resolve issues related to insurance claims and authorization
- Assist pharmacist by processing prescription data, filling prescriptions accurately, and managing patient records
- Provide patient service at pharmacy by addressing needs, promoting products, and ensuring a safe environment
- Complete documentation and collaborate with team members to meet priorities and improve pharmacy operations
