Job Requirements
- Meets all state requirements to work as a pharmacy technician such as minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, or licensure
- must obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by PTCB or NHA within nine months of job entry
- ability to operate cash registers and related hardware
- ability to follow company policies and procedures
- must comply with drug-free workplace policy

Job Duties
- Processes member purchases by operating a cash register and related hardware
- maintains merchandise presentation in the pharmacy by stocking and rotating merchandise and supplies
- maintains the pharmacy area in accordance with company policies by handling claims and returns and performing merchandising functions
- monitors and resolves problems in the prescription fulfillment process
- promotes and maintains the pharmacy's professional reputation by assisting pharmacists and processing insurance claims
- provides patient-member service by acknowledging members and assisting with prescription orders and purchases
- enters prescription data into pharmacy software by reading and transcribing prescription information
- fills prescriptions by measuring, counting, mixing medications, selecting and labeling containers, and operating dispensing equipment
- provides member assistance during prescription pickup, verifying information and completing required documentation
- completes work assignments by using policies and collaborating with managers and coworkers
- complies with company policies, maintaining integrity and ethical standards
