Job Requirements

  • Must meet state regulatory requirements for pharmacy technicians including minimum age and certification
  • Obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification within nine months of employment
  • Ability to operate cash registers and pharmacy hardware
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow prescribed procedures for medication handling and documentation
  • Willingness to comply with company policies including drug-free workplace standards

Job Qualifications

  • Meets all state requirements to work as a pharmacy technician including age, registration, certification, and licensure
  • Ability to obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by PTCB or NHA within nine months of job entry
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling medication and prescription data
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Knowledge of pharmacy software systems preferred

Job Duties

  • Process member purchases by operating cash registers and related hardware
  • Maintain merchandise presentation in the pharmacy by stocking and rotating merchandise and supplies
  • Handle claims and returns according to company policies and procedures
  • Monitor and resolve problems in the prescription fulfillment process including processing insurance claims and notifying patients
  • Promote pharmacy products and services while assisting pharmacists with prescription orders and purchases
  • Enter prescription data into pharmacy software accurately and update patient records
  • Fill prescriptions by measuring, counting, labeling medications and verifying accuracy
  • Assist members during prescription pickup including verifying patient information and logging sales
  • Collaborate with team members to prioritize tasks, communicate progress, and improve pharmacy operations
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards at all times
