Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in a kitchen or grill cook role preferred
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items
  • strong attention to detail
  • effective communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Understanding of grilling techniques, heat management, and cooking times for different food items
  • ability to follow specific recipes, measure ingredients accurately, and notice subtle changes in the texture or color of food
  • strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with waitstaff and other kitchen team members
  • capacity to stand for long periods, work in a fast-paced environment, and handle the physical demands of a commercial kitchen
  • ability to remain calm and make sound judgments under pressure, especially during peak dining times

Job Duties

  • Accurately prepare, portion, season, and grill a variety of proteins and vegetables
  • monitor internal temperatures to ensure meat is cooked to the customer’s specified rarity
  • set up and stock stations with necessary supplies before service
  • clean and sanitize equipment, including grills and prep areas, before, during, and after shifts
  • work effectively with the rest of the kitchen staff and expeditor to ensure dishes are prepared simultaneously and delivered in a timely fashion
  • adhere strictly to health code regulations, sanitation standards, and food safety protocols to prevent cross-contamination
  • monitor ingredient freshness and stock levels, informing management when supplies need replenishment
