Job Requirements

  • one year of experience as a baker in an institution, restaurant, hotel, or commercial baker
  • one year of food service work or cooking experience
  • one year of experience as a cook in a commercial food service facility or possession of a certificate of completion in culinary arts and/or foods and hospitality service from a certified community college or technical school
  • ability to obtain a Lane County Food Handler's card
  • ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • prepare a variety of baked goods including doughs, cakes, cookies, pastries, and desserts
  • ensure accurate order fulfillment and maintain high-quality standards
  • manage inventory and keep work areas clean and safe
  • perform front and back of house food service activities such as barista duties, food preparation, dishwashing, and dining room upkeep
  • cook meals according to recipes or verbal instructions using various cooking methods such as boiling, grilling, steaming, roasting, and baking
  • maintain sanitation and cleanliness of kitchen and equipment
  • keep accurate records of meals served
