Job Requirements

  • one year of experience as a baker in an institution, restaurant, hotel or commercial baker
  • one year of food service work or cooking experience
  • one year of experience as a cook in a commercial food service facility or possession of a certificate of completion in culinary arts or foods and hospitality service from a certified community college or technical school
  • ability to obtain a Lane County Food Handler’s card
  • ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures

Job Duties

  • prepare baked goods including doughs, cakes, cookies, pastries, and desserts
  • maintain inventory and cleanliness of bakers’ work area
  • perform front and back of house food service duties including barista operations and dish upkeep
  • provide outstanding customer service
  • prepare and serve meals according to menus, recipes, or instructions
  • clean kitchen and equipment and maintain sanitary work environment
  • keep accurate records including meal counts
