Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Minimum one year of related food service experience
  • Valid Texas driver’s license
  • Completion of Safe Driving training
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel when necessary

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED
  • One year of previous related food service experience
  • Valid Texas driver’s license
  • Completion of Safe Driving training
  • Banquet experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of CaterTrax preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
  • Professionalism in interacting with executives and external constituencies

Job Duties

  • Manage, oversee, and execute official UTMB catered events
  • Coordinate with kitchen for timely pick-up and delivery across multiple locations
  • Order and deliver floor stocks and supplies for campus Special Use Facilities and events
  • Ensure delivery accuracy and resolve issues with kitchen and staffing
  • Maintain proper food temperatures according to policy and report equipment issues
  • Demonstrate correct utensil usage and portion control
  • Ensure attractive garnishing and food display
  • Practice and enforce safety protocols including universal precautions, patient rights, fire safety, disaster preparedness, hazard communication, and HACCP
  • Supervise temporary staff for set-up, service, and clean-up
  • Coordinate with Police, Maintenance, and facility management for event oversight
  • Perform related duties as required
