Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED
  • One year of previous related food service
  • Valid Texas driver's license
  • Completion of Safe Driving training
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends occasionally
  • Willingness to travel between multiple campuses
  • Must be able to supervise and coordinate temporary staff

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED
  • One year of related food service experience
  • Banquet experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of CaterTrax preferred
  • Strong leadership and team motivation skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professionalism in working with university executives and external constituencies

Job Duties

  • Manage, oversee, and execute official UTMB catered events including direct supervision of personnel and temp staff
  • Coordinate with the kitchen for timely pick-up and delivery across multiple locations
  • Coordinate, order, and deliver floor stocks and supplies for all UTMB campus Special Use Facilities and planned events
  • Ensure all items are delivered as requested using problem-solving with kitchen and temporary staffing
  • Maintain proper food temperatures according to department policy and report equipment issues
  • Demonstrate correct usage of utensils and portion control
  • Ensure attractive garnishing and food display as per department standards
