Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED
  • One year of related food service experience
  • Valid Texas driver's license
  • Completion of Safe Driving training
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as necessary

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED
  • One year of previous related food service experience
  • Valid Texas driver's license
  • Completion of Safe Driving training
  • Banquet experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of CaterTrax preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Leadership and team motivation abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative

Job Duties

  • Manage, oversee, and execute official UTMB catered events including supervision of personnel and temporary staff
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff for timely food pick-up and delivery to multiple campus locations
  • Order and deliver floor stocks and supplies for Special Use Facilities and planned events
  • Ensure all items are delivered as requested and solve problems related to kitchen and staffing
  • Maintain proper food temperatures according to department policy and report issues with equipment
  • Demonstrate correct utensil usage and portion control
  • Ensure attractive garnishing and food display
  • Practice and teach principles of universal precautions, patient rights, fire safety, disaster preparedness, hazard communication, process improvements, and HACCP
  • Supervise temporary staff during set-up, service, and clean-up at multiple events
  • Coordinate facility oversight with Police, Maintenance, and facility management
