Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education
  • New York State Teacher Certification
  • Two years of experience in education or working with children preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Commitment to YMCA values
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred
  • Ability to maintain a safe and clean environment
  • Availability Monday through Friday up to 40 hours per week

Job Qualifications

  • Meets requirements outlined in contract with school district or local Board of Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education
  • New York State Teacher Certification required
  • Two years of experience working with children and background in education preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certifications preferred and may be required based on location

Job Duties

  • Develops and implements curriculum and lesson plans
  • Conducts assessments and ensures academic growth for students
  • Performs administrative tasks related to the program
  • Analyzes survey data and develops action plans to improve program quality
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and school administration
  • Follows department protocols to clean and disinfect commonly used surfaces
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of program and work areas
  • Ensures PPE compliance
  • Provides a safe environment for all activities
  • Enforces safety rules and reports or treats any injuries
  • Attends staff meetings and trainings as required
  • Carries out other duties as assigned
