Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in parks, recreation, event management or a related field
- Over two years of experience in planning and executing special events
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certification within one year of employment
- Valid South Carolina Class D Driver’s License
- Ability to think independently and develop improved work procedures
- Ability to supervise temporary staff and volunteers
- Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- Ability to establish effective working relationships
- Ability to respond to and resolve citizen inquiries and complaints
- Ability to read, comprehend and apply relevant laws, ordinances and policies
- Ability to operate general office equipment and various machines
- Ability to utilize software including Adobe Creative Suite and social media platforms
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in parks, recreation, event management or a related field
- Over two years of experience in planning and executing special events
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certification within one year of employment
- Valid South Carolina Class D Driver’s License
- Knowledge of facility and special event management principles
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and digital management software
- Ability to supervise and train staff and volunteers
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Job Duties
- Plan, coordinate, and evaluate daily operations for Unity Park facilities
- Provide on-site management for Unity Park facilities and special events
- Provide responsive customer service via phone, email, and in person
- Assist with special events management and permits
- Maintain records of attendance, rentals, and events
- Monitor and inspect facilities for safety and security
- Perform other duties as assigned
