Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum one year experience in a healthcare setting
- Preferably experience in maternal/child care units
- Ability to perform physical tasks related to cleaning and patient transport
- Ability to adhere to infection control and safety standards
- Effective communication skills
- Availability to work full-time night shifts
Job Qualifications

- Knowledge of hospital safety and sanitation protocols
- Ability to follow established policies and procedures
- Basic communication skills for effective coordination with nursing and supervisory staff
Job Duties
- Cleans patient rooms after vaginal deliveries, separating/removing waste as per policy
- Cleans operating rooms after each case and performs terminal cleaning as per policy
- Transports specimens using specimen logbook in a timely manner
- Transports and discharges patients in a timely manner
- Adheres to standard precautions in daily activities
- Cleans wheelchairs after each patient use
- Passes and picks up meal trays as requested
- Monitors use of cleaning supplies and advises supervisor on reordering needs
- Maintains linen cart organized, neat, and covered
- Maintains cleanliness of patient pantry areas, lounges, restrooms, call rooms, and offices daily
- Follows infant abduction prevention program and bereavement policy
- Transports bodies to the morgue and logs it
- Takes blood specimens as needed
- Supports emergencies by being available for specimen collection or supply procurement
- Checks formula expiration dates and removes expired formula
- Monitors and maintains supplies for handwashing and notifies nurse of low par levels
- Cleans incubators and radiant warmers as per policy
- Maintains cleanliness of patient areas including breast pump rooms
- Monitors par levels of blankets and gowns and coordinates with linen services
- Completes additional related tasks as required
