Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year related customer service experience
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations
  • Basic computer and data entry skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year related customer service experience
  • Preferred 2 years related work experience with knowledge of medical terminology
  • Preferred associates degree
  • Preferred current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Job Duties

  • Receive calls and customer requests and relay information to appropriate parties
  • Understand and comply with all patient confidentiality requirements including HIPAA
  • Perform order transcription and computer order entry
  • Enter patient charges and ensure charges are complete and accurate
  • File forms and reports in patients' medical records
  • Copy medical records for patient transfers
  • Verify unit census
  • Maintain patient assessment log
  • Disseminate patient assignment information to appropriate parties
  • Order and stock chart forms and other supplies for the unit
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned
