Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year related customer service experience
- Ability to comply with patient confidentiality requirements and HIPAA regulations
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to perform clerical tasks accurately and efficiently
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year related customer service experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- 2 years related work experience preferred
- Associates degree preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
Job Duties
- Receive calls and customer requests and relay information to appropriate parties
- Understand and comply with patient confidentiality requirements including HIPAA
- Perform order transcription and computer order entry
- Enter patient charges ensuring completeness and accuracy
- File forms and reports in patients' medical records
- Copy medical records for patient transfers
- Verify unit census
- Maintain patient assessment log
- Disseminate patient assignment information to appropriate parties
- Order and stock chart forms and other supplies for the unit
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned
