Job Description

Union Kitchen, located in the vibrant community of West Hartford, Connecticut, is seeking a dedicated and skilled server to become an integral part of our hospitality team. Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk and lift heavy items for extended periods of time
  • Two years experience preferred, but we will train the right restaurant candidate who shows a willingness to learn in a collaborative environment

Job Duties

  • Greet customers as they are seated at the table
  • Ensure the table is clean and that utensils, napkins, and other needs have been provided
  • Present menu to guests and answer questions about menu items, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services as needed
  • Inform guests of any menu changes and daily specials, and make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy
  • Take food and beverage orders and deliver them to the kitchen
  • Deliver food, beverages, condiments, and other requested items to customers
  • Ensure that food is prepared correctly and to customers satisfaction
  • Return incorrect or improperly cooked orders to kitchen
  • Collect plates and clear the table as customers finish their meals
  • Prepare customers checks and collect payments
  • Assist with other restaurant tasks such as cleaning the dining area and preparing silverware and condiments
  • Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests' needs and support the operation of the restaurant
