Job Requirements

  • Prior professional baking experience in similar role
  • availability to work full time including weekends
  • ability to follow health and safety regulations
  • physical capability to perform baking duties
  • willing to maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work area
  • ability to interact with customers in a professional manner

Job Qualifications

  • Prior professional baking experience in a similar role
  • ability to follow recipes and production specifications accurately
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • experience using commercial baking equipment
  • customer service skills
  • ability to work varying shifts including weekends
  • attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • capable of working under pressure during peak periods

Job Duties

  • Bake breads, pies, cakes, cookies and other pastries as necessary per the provided production and catering sheets
  • assists in production planning to meet daily requirements
  • ensures proper food preparation by utilizing approved recipes, following prescribed production standards and use of proper equipment
  • assists with the completion of production records including waste tracking, used/unused portions and product shortages
  • informs supervisor when supplies are low
  • ensures proper presentation, food quality, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
  • maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within work area
  • handles food items appropriately with safety regulations during preparation and service
  • cleans equipment and workstation thoroughly before shift end
  • keeps display equipment clean and free of debris
  • interacts with customers and resolves complaints in a friendly, customer-service oriented manner
  • relays relevant concerns from customers to supervisors
  • keeps up with peak production and service calmly, accurately and efficiently
  • checks that all food is presented, served and displayed per standards
  • follows sanitation and safety principles including OSHA standards
  • completes shift work in timely and thorough manner
  • performs other duties as assigned
