Job Requirements
- Must have or be able to obtain a Utah Food Handler’s Permit within one month
- Ability to read, write and follow verbal instructions in English
- Previous experience in food handling preferred
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service
- Availability to work 10-19 hours per week including some weekends and evenings
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to food service
- Reliable and dependable work ethic
- Willingness to learn and demonstrate knowledge of current museum exhibitions and programs
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Current Food Handler’s Permit required or must obtain within one month of employment
- Six months food handling experience preferred
- Experience in food and beverage service
- Skill in operating espresso machines and preparing café beverages
- Proficient in cash handling and point of sale transactions
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
Job Duties
- Prepares café beverages including espresso-based drinks
- Handles cash and credit transactions providing accurate customer service
- Prepares menu items according to recipe and customer needs in a timely manner
- Assists with catering and event preparation tasks
- Completes opening and closing duties independently or as part of small teams
- Receives deliveries and verifies packing slips for accuracy
- Restocks and checks inventory, notifies supervisor of supply needs, removes expired items
- Cleans and maintains the front of house and café equipment to high standards
- Removes trash and food debris daily maintaining cleanliness
- Maintains personal hygiene and professionalism
- Demonstrates knowledge of Museum operations and current exhibitions
- Responds to visitor questions regarding calendar, exhibitions, programs, and events
