Job Requirements

  • valid FAA Remote Pilot Certificate Part 107 or equivalent
  • 5+ years of work experience operating UAS commercially preferably in infrastructure inspection or utilities
  • demonstrable experience flying UAS in challenging field conditions
  • proficiency with UAS flight planning software and data capture workflows
  • basic knowledge of electrical infrastructure and associated hazards preferred
  • strong situational awareness and spatial coordination
  • good interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • ability to maintain safety clearances and use personal protective equipment
  • ability to travel frequently including remote sites
  • physical ability to stand and operate equipment for extended periods
  • visual and auditory acuity sufficient for flight operations

Job Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial UAS operation experience preferably in infrastructure inspection or utilities
  • valid FAA Remote Pilot Certificate (Part 107) or equivalent regulatory certification
  • recognized subject-matter expert in UAS inspections within electrical infrastructure
  • proficiency with UAS flight planning software and data capture workflows
  • demonstrable experience flying UAS in challenging conditions
  • strong situational awareness and attention to detail
  • good interpersonal and communication skills
  • basic knowledge of electrical infrastructure and safety hazards preferred

Job Duties

  • Lead mission planning for complex inspection operations including risk assessments and airspace coordination
  • pilot advanced UAS platforms and payloads including BVLOS operations under regulatory policies
  • oversee pre-flight inspections and operational readiness including sensor calibration and safety protocols
  • conduct high-quality data capture for electrical infrastructure inspections detecting anomalies
  • lead post-flight data processing and prepare detailed inspection reports
  • collaborate with engineers to prioritize maintenance and support asset life-cycle management
  • manage and maintain UAS fleet including maintenance schedules and budget planning
  • train, mentor, and certify junior pilots and develop training curriculum
  • develop and refine operational SOPs, safety protocols, and compliance frameworks
  • represent UAS inspection program to clients, regulatory bodies, and internal leadership
  • operate sUAS to inspect electrical infrastructure per FAA Part 107 and company safety procedures
  • plan and execute aerial missions across varied terrains
  • capture high-resolution imagery for inspection and analysis
  • ensure data quality and consistency
  • maintain detailed flight logs and equipment maintenance records
  • manage data upload and integration with inspection workflows
  • coordinate with field inspectors, management, and safety personnel
  • collaborate with inspection teams for mission scheduling and site access
  • stay current with UAS technologies and regulatory changes
  • comply with airspace authorizations and flight restrictions
  • perform other assigned duties
