Job Requirements
- Certification as FAA CFI, CFII, MEI (if not United Aviate Pathway participant)
- Medical Class 3
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a flight instructor
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience
- Extensive knowledge of 14 CFR and FSIMS 8900
- Ability to work full-time including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication skills
- Customer service orientation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and aviation scheduling systems
- Commitment to safety and ethical compliance
- Ability to maintain accurate training records and student progress reports
Job Qualifications
- United Aviate Pathway participation preferred but not required
- 1+ years experience as a flight instructor
- 2+ years experience in a leadership role
- Extensive understanding of 14 CFR, FSIMS 8900, and other regulations pertaining to aviation
- FAA CFI, CFII, MEI certifications if not in United Aviate Pathway
- Medical Class 3 certification
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Aviation or Business Administration)
- Gold Seal CFI, Master CFI or equivalent certifications preferred
- Excellent listening, oral and written communication skills
- Customer service oriented
- Strong problem solving and analysis skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and aviation scheduling systems
- Knowledge of aviation regulations, policies, procedures, and best practices
- Knowledge of United Airlines policies, procedures, and standards
- Ability to think strategically and translate concepts into actionable items
- Courage to make key decisions and advise leadership with professionalism and poise
- Comfortable working in ambiguous situations
- Strong ability to use data and analytics to make key decisions and identify actions for best results
- Ability to build strong partnerships across business areas, operations, standards, safety, student services, and United Airlines

Job Duties
- Maintain student training records in accordance with 14 CFR Part 141 and United Aviate Academy policies
- Maintain training standards as set forth by FAA regulations and United Aviate policies
- Ensure that course standards, training requirements and objectives are met by all assigned students as required by the Training Course Outline
- Report on student progress and accurately maintain and update all appropriate records
- Recommend and develop curriculum and courseware improvements when appropriate
- Maintain a safe, caring, dependable and efficient culture with students, fellow instructors, and staff
- Perform other related duties and assignments as required
- Must be able to work full-time, nights, weekends, and holiday schedules
