Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • three years of administrative, clerical, or secretarial experience or related field
  • must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • ability to operate automated office equipment such as telephone, computer, printer, copier, calculator, facsimile, and postage meter
  • ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • ability to speak with and convey information to the public and coworkers
  • ability to read, write, and prepare reports using correct grammar and punctuation
  • ability to make independent judgments with minimal supervision
  • ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • ability to visually inspect items for proper shape and size
  • ability to coordinate hand-eye movements using office equipment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • three years of administrative, clerical, or secretarial experience or related field
  • experience in entertainment venue or event management environment preferred
  • valid driver's license
  • proficiency in operating office equipment including computers and audio/visual systems
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize
  • customer service experience
  • ability to lift and move up to 40 lbs
  • knowledge of social media content creation and marketing
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively

Job Duties

  • Serve as initial and primary client relations manager by answering telephone calls and email correspondence
  • assist walk-in customers with venue tours
  • develop plans and layouts for custom special events and offer referrals to third party vendors
  • ensure execution of event and venue policies, procedures, and agreements
  • prepare logs and records of documentation submitted by prospective caterers and vendors
  • maintain working relationships with local government agencies
  • generate correspondence and maintain filing systems
  • perform market research to protect company assets
  • assist with special projects and event logistics planning
  • review third party invoicing and time records
  • gather data to assess event needs and resources
  • recommend policies and procedures for quality services
  • conduct safety inspections of venues
  • monitor and process office supplies and purchase requests
  • process payments and issue receipts
  • work flexible schedules including evening and weekend events
  • resolve emergencies and patron problems during events
  • operate audio/visual equipment
  • lift and move tables and chairs as needed
  • manage farmers' market activities including vendor relations and documentation
  • maintain inventory for market vendors
  • form relationships to schedule entertainment and educational opportunities
  • conduct customer counts
  • respond to public complaints and provide information
  • assist with Farmers Market Nutrition Programs enrollment
  • create and publish social media content for marketing
  • attend trainings, networking events, and represent the River Market on committees
  • perform other related duties as required
