Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs continually throughout a shift
  • Must be able to push, pull and move levers, equipment and furniture
  • Must be able to work with arms raised above head throughout a shift
  • Must be able to maneuver fully loaded maid cart weighing up to 50lbs through hallways and closets
  • Ability to perform prolonged strenuous physical activity indoors
  • Ability to work in an environment with excessive heat and humidity in laundry
  • Must maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times

Job Qualifications

  • No formal education or training required
  • Must have basic knowledge of general cleaning principles and use of cleaning products
  • Must be able to identify minute debris and dirt in poorly lit areas
  • Must be able to read written instructions and computer print-outs
  • Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Must have good communication skills both verbally and in writing

Job Duties

  • Provide added amenities such as extra towels and pillows, bed turn-down, freshen-up/clean the room, turn on the television and music to a soothing and relaxing channel, draw the curtains close
  • Clean and wipe windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures in rooms, public areas and hallways, often using ladders or stools for hard to reach areas
  • Replace towels, soaps and all room amenities and restock literature as needed
  • Wash all hard floor areas by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas
  • Dust and polish all furniture, fixtures and wall hangings including vents and ceiling corners
  • Strip bed linen and remake with fresh linens checking for cleanliness
  • Check closet cleanliness, wipe closet door and handle, restock guest room supplies such as hangers, blankets and pillows
  • Vacuum rooms, public areas and hallways including under furniture
  • Inspect all door and window locks for safety and report any issues immediately
  • Inspect all room equipment to ensure proper working order and report maintenance needs
  • Secure and maintain custody of equipment, keys and supplies
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
