Job Requirements
- Must be a citizen or national of the US or lawful permanent resident
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- Understand standardized math processes such as count, additions and subtractions
- Ability to train other workers as required
- Learning time necessary on the job to achieve average proficiency is less than a month
- May contact other departments or people on routine affairs exchanging necessary information
- Able to frequently lift, push and pull mail up to 50 pounds
- Able to conduct repetitive hand and arm movements
- Able to operate a scanner and inspect packages
- Able to work in a warehouse environment with exposure to hot and changing temperatures, noise, dirt and dust
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent training
- At least 6 months related experience preferred
- Ability to train other workers as required
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- Ability to understand standardized math processes such as count, addition, and subtraction
- Proficient in operating screening equipment
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
Job Duties
- Screen international mail that weighs over 16 ounces
- Perform calibrations and verifications every eight hours on ETD Morpho machines
- Actively monitor all screening activities and intervene to resolve alarms
- Maintain receipts for alarms, calibration, and verification
- Alert supervisor of any machine alerts that occur while screening mail pieces
- Perform weekly machine maintenance
- Ensure the proper use of all screening equipment
- Aid in the TSA inspection when cargo screening is being inspected
- Ensure all screeners are trained and tested in accordance with the SSP
- Conduct briefings and instruct screeners on current requirements
- Reassign to alternate operational areas as business needs require
- Perform other duties as assigned
