Job Description

The Public Health Distribution Center operates within the Finance and Administrative Services Division (FASD) of Public Health - Seattle & King County and is organizationally aligned under the Contracts, Procurement & Real Estate Services (CPRES) section. CPRES provides leadership and oversight for contracts, procurement, and real estate functions essential for smooth operations within the public health department. Job Requirements

  • Must reside in Washington state within reasonable distance to King County worksite
  • Must be able to provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification if applicable
  • Ability to pass background investigation
  • Capable of performing physical tasks including lifting up to 60 pounds
  • Must adhere to OSHA/WISHA safety guidelines
  • Reliable attendance and effective communication skills
  • Willingness to work Monday through Friday 6:30am to 3:00pm
  • Ability to drive a full-size cargo van safely in city and rural areas

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in delivery or logistics operations preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift at least 60 pounds safely
  • Proficient in operating pallet jacks and hand trucks
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Basic computer skills for use of office automation systems

Job Duties

  • Pick up and deliver pharmaceuticals from Public Health facilities
  • Pick up and deliver lab specimens and results from Public Health facilities and partner organizations
  • Pick up and deliver interoffice mail, supplies, and receipts from Public Health facilities
  • Pick up and deliver materials in support of Emergency Preparedness and other short-term program operations
  • Load delivery vehicle according to the scheduled route
  • Operate a pallet jack and hand truck safely
  • Drive a full-size cargo van in urban and rural traffic conditions
