Job Description
The Public Health Distribution Center operates within the Finance and Administrative Services Division (FASD) of Public Health – Seattle & King County. It is organizationally aligned under the Contracts, Procurement & Real Estate Services (CPRES) section, which provides leadership and oversight for contracts, procurement, and real estate functions. The Distribution Center plays a crucial operational role, managing logistics operations that support public health services across King County. Job Requirements
- Reside in Washington State within reasonable distance to King County worksite
- ability to pass a thorough background investigation
- provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR if applicable
- proficient and comfortable with computer use including Microsoft Office and web-based tools
- adhere to OSHA/WISHA guidelines and complete mandatory trainings on time
- regular and reliable attendance
- effective communication skills
- ability to develop effective working relationships
- willingness to perform duties outside regular job description including emergency response
- ability to lift at least 60 pounds
- valid Washington State driver license
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior delivery experience
- ability to safely operate an enclosed delivery van
- familiarity with safe driving practices in varied weather and road conditions
- strong attention to detail
- ability to safely lift at least 60 pounds
- skill in using hand trucks and pallet jacks
- effective communication skills
- basic computer skills for email and time reporting
- valid Washington State driver license
Job Duties
- Pick up and deliver pharmaceuticals from Public Health facilities
- pick up and deliver lab specimens and results from Public Health facilities and partner organizations
- pick up and deliver interoffice mail, supplies, and receipts from Public Health facilities
- pick up and deliver materials in support of Emergency Preparedness and other short-term program operations
- load and secure supplies efficiently along scheduled delivery routes
- operate full-size cargo vans safely in city and rural traffic conditions
- maintain accurate and timely delivery documentation
